Job Description

We are now looking for a Payroll Controller to join our finance team in Radisson Hotel Group!
As our Payroll Controller, Norway, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely and compliant payroll across our Norwegian entities. Working closely with HR, Operations, Accounting, HR Tech/IT and our external payroll provider, you will bring strong Norwegian payroll expertise, robust controls and a continuous-improvement mindset to the end-to-end payroll process.
This is a role where your expertise will make a real difference. You will act as the key point of contact for Norwegian payroll, ensuring quality and compliance while identifying opportunities to simplify processes, reduce risk and improve the employee experience.
Key responsibilities
Own the monthly pre- and post-payroll control process, reconciling variances and driving corrective actions with external payroll provider.
Ensure accurate calculation and processing of salaries, overtime, allowances, holiday pay, leave balances and statutory deductions.
Calculate HR provisions and accruals and manage monthly payroll allocations.
Validate employee master data, employee lists and cost-allocation structures.
Ensure full compliance with Norwegian payroll legislation and applicable collective agreements.
Oversee key Norwegian payroll processes, including NAV sick pay applications and refunds, pension reporting, AFP/AGA and A-melding submissions.
Act as the key contact for auditors, statistical reporting and external payroll-related enquiries.
Manage the relationship with our external payroll provider, including SLA follow-up, quality management, escalation of issues and reduction of rework and additional service charges.
Coordinate Timeplan – payroll provider – SAP integration topics, including interfaces, field mapping, testing and defect resolution.
Own monthly reconciliations of payroll-related balance sheet accounts and ensure aged items are investigated and cleared.
Import and validate statistical metrics in SAP and perform plan-versus-actual checks.
Maintain and strengthen the payroll control framework, including master-data changes, payroll calendars and approval processes.
Identify end-to-end process gaps and drive continuous improvement, efficiency and risk reduction.
Ensure key Norway payroll consolidation milestones are delivered accurately and on time.
Provide functional input and expertise for the 2027 payroll tender.
Provide clear timelines, checklists and expectations to hotel PMs/HODs, HR and Finance stakeholders.
Deliver targeted training and guidance to relevant stakeholders on payroll processes and requirements.
Build strong working relationships across HR Norway, Operations, Controlling, Accounting, HR Tech/IT and external payroll provider.

Qualifications

3-5+ years of relevant Norwegian payroll experience, ideally covering payroll across multiple entities or locations.
Expert knowledge of Norwegian payroll legislation, statutory requirements and collective agreements.
Strong experience with Timeplan, payroll systems and SAP, or comparable ERP systems.
Strong understanding of payroll controls, reconciliations and accounting principles.
Experience managing or coordinating with an external payroll provider.
Experience with payroll systems integration and working with interfaces, data mapping, testing and issue resolution.
Strong analytical skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage recurring deadlines and multiple stakeholders.
Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll matters to both HR and non-finance stakeholders.
A proactive continuous-improvement mindset, with the ability to identify issues and turn them into practical solutions.
Experience with project delivery or payroll transformation would be an advantage.
